How to Troll Fish on Kayaks

Many people assume that the small space that comes with using a kayak would make going on a troll fishing trip a somewhat challenging, or an even impossible, undertaking. Some would rather take a typical fishing boat out on the lake or would prefer to just sit on the beach. However, the presumption that using a kayak for troll fishing will be unpleasant is not necessarily true.
Troll fishing on a kayak will require that certain steps are taken. First of all, the fisherman will need to take the end of the fishing line and tie a loop up over it. After that, a second loop needs to be tied at a distance of ten inches away from the end of the line. Once that has been done, then there has to be a bungee cord of five inch length tied to a second loop with the girth hitch.

On the kayak's deck line, there will need to be a carabiner added on. Once the carabiner has been attached, then the bungee cord and the handline must be secured onto that. With the bungee cord, there will be at least ten inches of leeway offered for the handline until it tightens. It is important to pay close attention to the bungee cord while troll fishing. When the line goes taut, that means a fish has taken the bait.

Finally, tie a ten-foot leader made of fishing line to the opposite end of the handline and hook on the lure. Let it go into the water and let the handline unwind from its handle. Paddle forward at a steady pace. Troll fishing on a kayak can not only be fun and relaxing for the patron, but any cramping or inhibition will be minimal and certainly not likely to ruin the experience.
