The most surprising feature of this type of adventure boat is not that it folds up flat and can be stored under your bed. The best feature is actually how well it rides and how smooth the transitions are. The typical turning ratio of the inflatable version is a bit larger than most hardshells and the higher sides filled with air means there is more of a likelihood that you could have a lot of wind resistance even when the weather seems reasonably calm.
As you read about inflatable kayaks bear in mind that there are some things that you may truly prefer about being in a hardshell. This may boil down to what you think looks better. With safety considerations and the overall expense (a hardshell is much more expensive) you might want to consider the easy and natural feel an inflatable will take on.
